COURSE DESCRIPTION
This section will focus on providing school staff with the skills and confidence to support students with their mental health in the classroom and school environment. It will teach strategies to recognize warning signs and give tips on how you can personally support your students. It will also offer information on who you can connect with to get basic mental health advice, as well as where you can link students with additional mental health supports. This will enable learners to step up, take action, and work towards a culture of care.

In this section, learners will:

-Learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health struggle in students.
-Develop a deeper understanding of what a struggling student may be experiencing internally (e.g., feelings, thoughts) and presenting with externally (e.g., behaviors in the classroom).
-Develop strategies and skills to be able to effectively support those who seem to be struggling with their mental health.
-Build confidence in their ability to step up, take action, and support others by providing useful tips and resources
