Phonemic Awareness

Research tells us that Phonemic Awareness is crucial for learning to read and write; yet many teacher preparation programs do not adequately prepare educators for this important task. This mini course is designed for PK-2 teachers to enhance their knowledge of phonemic awareness and its critical role in quality literacy instruction. Grounded in the Science of Reading, this course will equip you with effective tools and strategies to teach and support students in developing strong phonemic awareness at the basic and advanced levels. You will also have the opportunity to create a personalized instructional activity to enhance these crucial skills in your classroom.
